Downtown Dallas
The Dallas Arts District is one of the most interesting places to visit in Dallas. In the 1970’s, the idea of an Arts District in Dallas was proposed by a series of consultants. Since then, Downtown Dallas has become home to many museums and institutions, a high school, and Cathedral. The Dallas Arts District has buildings designed by Priztker Prize winning architects, I.M Pei, Renzo Piano, Norman Foster, and Rem Koolhaas. In addition, it includes The Dallas Museum of Art designed by AIA Gold Medal recipient Edward Larrabee Barnes. The Arts District is located on Flora St. and includes 68 acres of land adjacent to the new Klyde Warren Park.
The Arts District is home to many types of art including painting, sculpture, opera, dance and more. The latest building that opened in the Arts District is the City Performance Hall which presents a wide range of cultural performances.
