Galaxy Drive-In
Ennis, Tx
Opened Dec. 17, 2004
Don’t you ever wonder how people spent their time during the 50’s and 60’s? You could ask your grandparents and use your imagination to picture how life was, or you could go and find out yourself. In a small rural area outside Dallas Texas, there is a drive-in the movie theatre, and one of the most popular road trips from Dallas.
The drive-in movies are a great place to go for people who miss the good old days, or for people who want to experience a little piece of the 50’s and 60’s. Most of the people there go to watch a movie in the privacy of their own car. The Galaxy Drive-In was constructed in 2004, but it was designed to look “old school”, and the Galaxy is exactly what you’d expect a drive-in to look like. They show all the most recent movies, and you can watch two movies for the price of one. Not only that, it’s the first drive-in to show 3D movies.

This drive in movie theatre was a great place to hang out with friends in Dallas during the 60’s and 70’s. When it opened in 1968, drive in movies were very popular. Unfortunately, the Astro burned down in 1989 as drive-in movie theatres began to lose their appeal.
