Dallas Mapping Project
Bishop Arts District
The walk and bike movement in the Bishop Art District is aiming to encourage more people to get active, and it also helps with the pollution problem that has plagued North Texas. In October of 2013, the city began putting up signs showing the travel time from one location to another in the Bishop Arts District. For instance, if you were to walk from the Bishop Arts District to Lake Cliff Park it would take 16 minutes, but if you were to ride a bike it would be 5 minutes. The signs are a real eye catcher and contribute to the walk/bike movement in this part of Dallas. The Bishop Arts District has become a leader in the new walk/bike movement and it even has a bike shop, the Oak Cliff Bike Company, where you get your bike repaired or rent a bike to enjoy the sites of Oak Cliff.

The new Calatrava bridge has three white soaring bridges that sits over the trinity river. Their is great criticism over the bridge being built, but it will help play a big role in Dallas. The bridge is multi-diverse because it is a pedestrian & bike friendly bridge.
